About the role
- Develop and execute public relations efforts to support the brand's hospitality locations.
- Manage day-to-day PR strategy development and execution for local brands and taprooms.
- Work alongside Social Media Coordinators, Market & Events team, and Beer & Benevolence leader to collaborate on timing of announcements, social media and newsletter content.
- Assist on regional and national publicity efforts as needed.
- Build and maintain media lists, draft press releases and pitches, execute media outreach and follow-up.
- Manage all external PR inquiries for Dogfish Head's local brands and taprooms.
- Engage and strengthen relationships with local and regional organizations.
- Manage local PR budget and track related spending.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or comparable job experience) in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related function.
- Physical demands: Must be able to lift a case of beer.
- Must be able to travel to Dogfish Head's Delaware locations three (3) days per week.
- Other travel may be required, as well as occasional work some nights and weekends.
- Proven communications skills, including strong writing abilities.
- Ability to think creatively, especially as it relates to problem solving.
- Outgoing disposition with a strong ability to build meaningful, trusted relationships.
- Highly organized, flexible, self-motivated and able to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate cross-functionally.
- Previous job experience or internships / co-ops in communications, journalism, marketing or public relations is a plus.
