Shipping and Receiving Associate
The Bardstown Bourbon CompanyShipping and Receiving Associate handling incoming and outgoing shipments for Bardstown Bourbon Company. Ensuring accuracy in documentation and inventory management while providing excellent customer service.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments; reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to resolve issues.
- Create and manage shipping labels and information for outgoing shipments.
- Maintain an inventory of shipping materials and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.
- Assist in loading and unloading packages from delivery vehicles, trailers, and pallets.
- Perform computer functions to track deliveries and shipments, including creating organized shipping records such as statements of origin, shipping costs, products shipped, and receipt dates.
- Coordinate with carriers for pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring efficient scheduling and handling of shipments.
- Answer phones, update records, and provide excellent customer service.
- Keep the work area and equipment clean, orderly, and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Support the company's ISO program, including adherence to quality and food safety standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in shipping and receiving
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- High school diploma or GED
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Basic computer and math skills
- Willingness to learn and operate forklifts and hand trolleys.
