About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain Power BI semantic models with a strong focus on star schema, snowflake schema, and dimensional modelling.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Develop complex DAX measures and calculated columns to support advanced analytics and business logic.
  • Build and optimize SQL transformations within a medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold layers).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across platforms.
  • Familiarity with the latest advancements in Power BI such as deployment pipelines, dataflows, composite models, DirectQuery vs Import modes, and integration with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Prepare high-quality management information and present recommendations for implementation/business decisions within strict timelines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure that data is interpreted and validated correctly and work with them to refine data outputs.
  • Develop an understanding of the business and its operations to determine relevant insights for various business stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric components (Azure Data Factory, Lakehouse, OneLake, Notebooks, Pipelines).

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/information systems/engineering or maths.
  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Data / BI Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI / Synapse / Microsoft Azure / Fabric tools and architecture.
  • Proficiency in Power BI , SQL, nice to have Python (PySpark).
  • Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse Analytics).
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing.
  • Microsoft certifications in Power BI, Azure Data Engineering, or Microsoft Fabric preferred.
  • Familiarity with data mesh or data fabric concepts preferred.
  • Exposure to machine learning workflows and AI integrations preferred.
