About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for securing and growing major and planned gifts in support of the ALS Association’s strategic priorities and mission
- Build philanthropic partnerships with individuals and foundations to secure planned gifts and outright gifts at the $5,000 - $25,000 level
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward supporters to growing revenue
- Work as a partner to other Development staff to secure major and planned gifts from donors in their portfolios
- Collaborate with Sr Director on fundraising strategies and goals
- Maintain an attitude of abundance, persistence, and urgency
- Must maintain up-to-date knowledge of mission related information on research, advocacy, and care services provided by the Association to inspire giving.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5 years of professional major gift fundraising experience
- Minimum of 3 years of professional planned giving experience, including discussing and closing gifts of bequests, beneficiary designations, and charitable gift annuities
- Ability to travel up to 30%
- A self-starter with outstanding communication skills
- Experience in successfully engaging with a diverse staff and range of donors, volunteers, and community members
- Collaboration skills required to partner with field Development colleagues involved in the achievement of Territory revenue goals
- Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills
- Commitment to equity and inclusion with an inherent drive to work and collaborate with diverse populations
- Ability to work with flexibility in a dynamic team environment and embrace organizational change
- Commitment to learn and utilize new technologies to improve efficiency and implement strategy
- Proven track record of closing gifts and meeting fundraising goals
- Possess integrity, maturity and ethical awareness; ability to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality.
