About the role

  • Serve as the primary technical owner of AES’s VMware Horizon View virtual desktop environment, ensuring stability, performance, and scalability.
  • Manage and optimize FSLogix profiles and App Volumes for efficient application delivery and user experience.
  • Support and enhance AES’s virtual infrastructure, collaborating closely with global teams to improve performance and maintain best practices.
  • Create and maintain software deployment packages, manage automation initiatives, and develop process improvements for scalability and self-service capabilities.
  • Evaluate software requests and make recommendations aligned with AES business needs and industry standards.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of complex virtual environment and endpoint issues.
  • Analyze and mitigate vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with AES’s security and operational policies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members, engage with vendors, and support budget and lifecycle planning for digital workplace technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent technical training or experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in enterprise systems administration with a strong focus on VMware Horizon View and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)
  • Hands-on expertise with FSLogix and App Volumes in a large-scale production environment (required)
  • Strong knowledge of: Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • TCP/IP networking protocols, LAN/WAN
  • Azure and Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Intune
  • Windows 11, SQL Reporting, and PowerShell scripting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
