About the role
- Work closely with leadership to understand franchise goals, then engage with project stakeholders early to understand the intended impact of their work
- Design and execute end-to-end studies using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate whether the player experience meets project goals.
- Partner with Data Analysts & Scientists to synthesize mixed-method insights, creating a more holistic view of player behavior and sentiment
- Present actionable insights back to stakeholders in a clear and compelling way while providing recommendations and ongoing design consultation
- Effectively communicate your discoveries with the wider organization so that they may better understand the experience of our players
- Improve the researcher process with our development team with each cycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years or equivalent experience in user research or market research
- A Bachelor’s degree in a human-focused discipline such as Psychology, Anthropology, or Human-Computer Interaction.
- Experienced in qualitative and quantitative research methods—including interviews, focus groups, playtests, diary studies —with deep specialization in surveys
- Proficient in core statistical methods—including regression, correlation, and factor analysis—and experienced with a statistical package such as R or SPSS
- Excellent written English with experience writing effective survey questions
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent spoken communication skills with experience running (remote) focus groups
- Experience working with cross-cultural teams and audiences
- Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams
- Passion for games and a belief in thatgamecompany’s mission
