About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform full-cycle game localization and translation from Simplified Chinese to English
- Localize in-game UI, storylines, character dialogue, and marketing copy
- Conduct linguistic LQA
- Polish narratives and adapt content cross-culturally
- Participate in creative brainstorming with game teams
- Work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during core business hours
- Complete information verification, NDA signing, qualification sample testing, and onboarding
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on game localization experience
- Native or near-native English proficiency
- Simplified Chinese to English translation expertise
- Minimum one of: degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies with significant translation training; 2+ years of translation experience plus a college degree; 5+ years of translation experience without a degree; or a translation certification issued by an appropriate government body
- Gaming translation and localization experience, including gaming genres, partial client lists, and estimated word count
- Availability for core business hours
- Ability to complete a short unpaid qualification assessment test
- Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement
- Ability to complete a translation test
- Gaming experience, preferably including mobile games
