About the role
- Respond to incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders efficiently and professionally.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments using the clinics electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Address patient questions and concerns, providing information on services, procedures, and appointment details.
- Accurately document and relay messages to appropriate healthcare providers or departments.
- Assist in verifying patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments.
- Update and maintain patient records in the EHR, including demographics, insurance information, and contact details.
- Address patient complaints or issues promptly and escalate them to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional certification in medical office administration or related fields is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a medical office or similar administrative role.
- Proficiency in EMR systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance processes, and HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced work environment.
- Bilingual skills (preferred but not required).
