About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide first-line technical support to campus faculty, researchers, administrative staff, and students for desktop hardware, software, and mobile device-related issues
- Maintain a customer-first attitude and deliver responsive, solution-oriented technical support in a timely manner
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve endpoint computing issues across Windows, Mac, and mobile environments
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, printers, software, and related peripherals
- Collaborate with Tier III specialists, IT staff, and leadership to support escalation of complex technical issues and service improvements
- Ensure compliance with IT security, data privacy, and acceptable use policies in support of academic and research operations
- Document technical solutions, troubleshooting steps, and support procedures to maintain accurate knowledge base resources
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Associate degree in Information Technology or certificate in technology training, or equivalent combination of training and experience is a plus
- Four months (one semester) of student worker and/or customer service experience
- Two years of experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computer equipment is a plus
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with client relations experience
- Customer service experience
- Experience configuring, administering, and troubleshooting computer systems
- Experience supporting Windows, Mac, and mobile device environments
- Experience providing technical support in higher education is a plus
