About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide first-line technical support to campus faculty, researchers, administrative staff, and students for desktop hardware, software, and mobile device-related issues
  • Maintain a customer-first attitude and deliver responsive, solution-oriented technical support in a timely manner
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve endpoint computing issues across Windows, Mac, and mobile environments
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, printers, software, and related peripherals
  • Collaborate with Tier III specialists, IT staff, and leadership to support escalation of complex technical issues and service improvements
  • Ensure compliance with IT security, data privacy, and acceptable use policies in support of academic and research operations
  • Document technical solutions, troubleshooting steps, and support procedures to maintain accurate knowledge base resources

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associate degree in Information Technology or certificate in technology training, or equivalent combination of training and experience is a plus
  • Four months (one semester) of student worker and/or customer service experience
  • Two years of experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computer equipment is a plus
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with client relations experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience configuring, administering, and troubleshooting computer systems
  • Experience supporting Windows, Mac, and mobile device environments
  • Experience providing technical support in higher education is a plus
