About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Originate residential mortgage loans in accordance with company guidelines and lending regulations
Conduct borrower interviews to gather financial information and assess eligibility
Evaluate applicant financial documents and determine appropriate loan programs
Educate clients on loan products, terms, and procedures
Submit complete loan applications for processing, approval, and underwriting
Maintain accurate records in the loan origination system
Follow up with clients, processors, and underwriters
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth loan closings
Meet established productivity and quality goals
Maintain knowledge of lending policies, compliance standards, and industry trends
Support loan production efforts within the branch and potentially receive overrides on qualified loans originated by other Mortgage Loan Originators

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid NMLS license as required by state and federal regulations
Previous experience in mortgage lending or financial services preferred
College coursework or degree preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office tools
Must meet Outside Sales Exemption criteria under the FLSA and applicable state regulations
Significant portion of work time must be spent conducting sales activities away from the employer’s place of business
