About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the daily operations of the Loan Production Office (LPO), ensuring efficiency and productivity
- Supervise at least two full-time LPO employees or the equivalent
- Provide input into hiring and firing decisions
- Mentor and coach employees to optimize performance, business growth, and professional development
- Conduct regular business planning and sales strategy meetings
- Maintain an open-door policy to support and engage employees
- Ensure compliance training and continuing education requirements are completed
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospects, customers, and referral partners
- Educate customers on mortgage loan processes, products, pricing, and payment structures
- Assist customers in structuring loans to meet financial needs and goals
- Support employees in using bank-approved tools to grow business opportunities
- Recruit additional personnel to grow the team and expand the business
- Ensure adherence to bank policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Monitor loan pricing management for compliance with bank guidelines
- Report suspected fraud or unauthorized activities to bank management
- Safeguard borrowers' non-public personal information
- Assist in managing expenses, P/L, and overall business strategy
- Refrain from all loan origination activities as a non-producing manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven leadership experience in mortgage lending and loan production management
- Strong knowledge of mortgage products, pricing, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to drive sales and business growth while maintaining operational integrity
- Proficiency in mortgage software tools and financial analysis
- Commitment to team development and customer education
- More than 50% of working hours dedicated to management and supervision of LPO employees
- Ability to meet or exceed five funded mortgage units per month
- Must supervise at least two full-time LPO employees or the equivalent
- Must comply with bank-mandated compliance training and continuing education requirements
- Must adhere to bank policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Must not engage in loan origination activities, including actions defined under the Truth in Lending Act and applicable licensing laws
