About the role
- Develop electrical plans, specifications and calculations for small to medium projects with limited supervision.
- Perform short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and power studies using ETAP or equivalent software.
- Troubleshoot electrical and signal issues; support I&E technicians on plant modifications or additions.
- Size equipment and specify components, including MCCs, switchgear, transformers and feeders.
- Review and redline P&IDs, drawings and specification sheets.
- Assist with project proposals, client meetings and scope development.
- Provide on-site support during plant startups, turnarounds and capital projects.
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 3-7 years of industrial electrical engineering experience (chemical, oil & gas, or heavy industrial preferred)
- Strong knowledge of electrical design fundamentals (grounding, wiring, schematics, lighting, cable tray, etc.)
- Proficiency in ETAP (or equivalent) for electrical studies; AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of NFPA codes (70, 70E, 496, 497, 655, IECC).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to manage multiple project timelines.
- Willingness to travel 20-25% to support projects and plant operations.
