Stay informed about local, state, and federal environmental regulations to ensure organizational compliance.
Manage the building management system for facilities, including evaluating and recommending materials and equipment related to HVAC, electrical, standby generators, lighting, and fire protection systems.
Evaluate the effectiveness of control measures and recommend improvements, as necessary.
Report and follow up on any defective environmental equipment and structural issues to the State Director.
Assist in designing, evaluating, and monitoring environmental controls, including those for temperature, humidity, lighting intensity, and CO2 enrichment.
Manage all software and hardware regulating environmental systems and ancillary systems.
Assist in developing and implementing sustainability programs aimed at reducing resource consumption, waste generation, and improving energy efficiencies.
Create, analyze, and prepare detailed reports.
Develop, train, and ensure compliance with TerrAscend's Standard Operating Procedures.
Manage and train a team of environmental control and maintenance technicians to assist with maintenance and general workflow.
Oversee the programming and set points of all greenhouses environmental control and building management systems to maintain the most efficient growing environment without compromising crop timing or quality.
Oversee the programming, use, and maintenance of lighting systems. Monitor CO2 systems to maintain parameters outlined by the cultivation manager.
Manage system maintenance vendors.
This position is always on call in case of emergencies and outages
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
3-5 years of experience working within environmental controls
Horticulture experience preferred
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams
Experience managing building management systems (HVAC, electrical, standby generators, lighting, fire protection)
Ability to oversee projects and make informed decisions
Planning, delegation, communication, and time management skills
Experience developing, coaching, and consistently executing Standard Operating Procedures
This position requires 24hrs on call for monitoring the building systems
Ability to work with hazardous chemicals (butane, propane, bleach) following strict safety guidelines
Able to push, pull, lift, or move a minimum of 50lbs
Capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time
Capable of using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel and pick
Must wear PPE (clothing protection), close-toed non-slip shoes, and optional ear/eye protection
Subject to background check and participates in E-Verify
