About the role
- Hire, train, schedule and manage staff to achieve standards, sales, profit objectives, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive a culture of positive employee engagement with focus on inclusion & diversity.
- Mentor, coach, motivate, and develop the team; lead performance succession planning.
- Host monthly dispensary staff meetings, maintain open-door policy, and welcome patient feedback.
- Actively manage inventory, recalls, returns, pricing to meet cost and sales targets.
- Manage cash controls and financial reporting; ensure check register, cash outs, bank logs, inventory and deposits are accurate.
- Manage service labor, scheduling, and payroll budget.
- Perform business management operations and analyses such as P&L; develop and review KPI reports to maximize revenues and profits.
- Proactively monitor dispensary profit and loss and develop mitigations between actual performance and company budget.
- Maintain awareness of cannabis and retail trends; work with grower-processors to understand products.
- Work with Director of each Dispensary to meet regulatory requirements; correct violations urgently.
- Collaborate with corporate teams (finance, marketing) to ensure standards are met.
- Oversee compliance regulations, safety measures, security issues, and legal matters.
- Partner with Director of Education and Medical Professional to ensure team cohesion and participate in quarterly check-ins.
- Promote open feedback from retail staff, medical professional team, and marketing department.
- Be an expert lead in seed-to-sale tracking system, POS System, LEAF TRADE, and Ecomm platform.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in retail, restaurant, food, or other service industry with responsibility for financial results.
- Cannabis experience highly preferred.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills; empathy and servant-leadership experience.
- Previous management proficiency in high-volume retail with P&L accountability.
- Ability to create and maintain a customer-focused culture.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Be available to work nights, weekends, and some holidays (store hours Mon–Sun 9AM–9PM).
- Ability to hire, train, schedule and manage staff; mentor, coach, and develop teams.
- Experience managing inventory, recalls, returns, pricing, cash controls, financial reporting, payroll and scheduling.
- Proficiency with seed-to-sale tracking system, POS System, LEAF TRADE, and Ecomm platform.
- Ability to perform physical tasks: stand constantly; walk frequently; reach, twist/turn; climb/balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; frequently lift/move up to 20 pounds; occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds; required vision abilities.
- Must pass a complete background investigation as condition of employment (state and federal checks) and employer participates in E-Verify.
