About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct inspections to identify infestations or conditions conducive to infestations of wood-destroying organisms, insects, birds, or other vertebrate pests
  • Prepare proposals and presentations to obtain sales contracts
  • Attend company training programs and ride-alongs to learn job skills
  • Record accurate measurements and descriptions of inspected properties and areas
  • Prepare specifications and treatment instructions according to laws, regulations, and company policy
  • Calculate treatment costs using company pricing instructions
  • Execute contracts while observing company credit-term policies
  • Maintain equipment, vehicle, and personal safety equipment in clean, working order
  • Sell termite-control protection, renewals, and monthly pest-control protection
  • Deal courteously with customers and leave premises and furnishings clean and as found
  • Attend call sessions to learn collection of delinquent personal sales contracts
  • Contact customers after service to ensure satisfaction and develop additional prospects
  • Develop termite and pest-control sales leads for the respective office

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school education or GED required
  • Six to twelve months of related sales and public-facing experience and/or training strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license from the current state of residence required
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages and draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Must pass all state licensing and/or company requirements
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, pull, or reposition up to 10 pounds and frequently handle 11–20 pounds
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
  • Ability to maintain balance on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces
  • Close visual acuity for detail-oriented activities at close and arm’s-reach distances
  • Ability to occasionally wear PPE, including an OSHA-compliant respirator
  • Ability to regularly work in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways
