About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete and maintain work orders
- Achieve customer satisfaction scores at or above the district average
- Maintain gross profitability at or above target for assigned contracts
- Achieve quarterly and annual service-selling goals
- Follow safety SOPs and promptly report incidents
- Apply aquatic species identification, product selection and dosing, and application strategies
- Maintain equipment and vehicles
- Monitor and maintain pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and other water chemistry levels
- Inspect and repair pumps, valves, heaters, circulation systems, and related infrastructure
- Inspect aquatic habitats and assess aquatic-life health and welfare
- Identify disease or stress and implement corrective measures
- Assist with aquatic exhibit design and installation
- Coordinate transportation, acclimation, and quarantine of new aquatic arrivals
- Provide educational programs and presentations on aquatic conservation, ecology, and responsible pet ownership
- Maintain water quality, equipment maintenance, and animal health records
- Respond to water-quality, equipment, and animal-health emergencies
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- Degree in a related science preferred
- 4+ years of experience in an environmental-related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of aquatic biology, ecology, and water chemistry
- Familiarity with filtration systems, pumps, UV sterilizers, and water-quality testing instruments
- Excellent problem-solving and equipment-troubleshooting skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity for lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to animal welfare and conservation principles
- CPR, first aid, and lifeguarding certification preferred
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver's license from state of residence
