About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Complete and maintain work orders
Achieve customer satisfaction scores at or above the district average
Maintain gross profitability at or above target for assigned contracts
Achieve quarterly and annual service-selling goals
Follow safety SOPs and promptly report incidents
Apply aquatic species identification, product selection and dosing, and application strategies
Maintain equipment and vehicles
Monitor and maintain pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and other water chemistry levels
Inspect and repair pumps, valves, heaters, circulation systems, and related infrastructure
Inspect aquatic habitats and assess aquatic-life health and welfare
Identify disease or stress and implement corrective measures
Assist with aquatic exhibit design and installation
Coordinate transportation, acclimation, and quarantine of new aquatic arrivals
Provide educational programs and presentations on aquatic conservation, ecology, and responsible pet ownership
Maintain water quality, equipment maintenance, and animal health records
Respond to water-quality, equipment, and animal-health emergencies

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED required
Degree in a related science preferred
4+ years of experience in an environmental-related field preferred
Strong knowledge of aquatic biology, ecology, and water chemistry
Familiarity with filtration systems, pumps, UV sterilizers, and water-quality testing instruments
Excellent problem-solving and equipment-troubleshooting skills
Physical stamina and dexterity for lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to animal welfare and conservation principles
CPR, first aid, and lifeguarding certification preferred
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Valid driver's license from state of residence
