About the role
- Develop and coordinate department objectives with the Value Stream Manager and department Supervisors/Process Managers to improve process, tooling procedures, and equipment.
- Investigate and solve production problems related to tooling, equipment, and processes.
- Develop, recommend, and implement changes for manufacturing processes or product quality improvements.
- Evaluate deviations from Engineering standards and follow up on communications regarding such deviations.
- Assist Value Stream Manager in developing capital and expense budgets.
- Troubleshoot and correct problems in production processes and tool designs.
- Assist Process Engineer and production with issues related to new products and processes.
- Use statistical techniques to solve department process and tooling problems.
- Evaluate new products for manufacturing feasibility and assist Sales and Application Engineers with customer contact as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field or high school diploma with 15 years manufacturing experience.
- Five (5) years experience in Manufacturing or Product Engineering.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in molding operation (if assigned to molding process) or a combination of a minimum of five (5) years of formal technical education and molding experience.
