About the role
- Directing, coordinating and assisting in the planning, organization, control, integration and completion of plant-based activities for lean and core engineering competencies
- Providing support to Operations, ensuring successful product launches while adhering to TenPlus and quality guidelines
- Providing leadership and direction to engineering personnel
- Project management of all installations, new business and continuous improvement projects
- Direct launch teams and assist plant management to ensure adherence to NPIS, TenPlus and APQP guidelines
- Contributing to plant profitability objectives by developing and implementing sound cost reduction projects
- Ensuring all new processes and equipment comply to Tenneco Machine and Safety Standards
- Modifying and managing existing equipment and processes to meet internal and external customer requirements
- Maintaining a data bank of 'Best Methods' for equipment, processes, and procedures
- Defining and implementing an engineering approach that applies consistent technology throughout the plant
- Acting as primary interface for customer contact on engineering projects and processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 to 7 years of Engineering and/or Program Management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
- Minimum of 2 years leadership experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal
- Must be a strong, hands-on problem solver with firm decision-making capabilities
- Experience coordinating and facilitating team activity
- Must have program management and project launch experience
- Strong computer skills are required
