About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of customer, vendor, and partner agreements (including MSAs, SaaS subscription agreements, DPAs, NDAs, SOWs, and order forms), escalating complex or non-standard issues to the Senior Legal Counsel.
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of Tenex's contract templates, playbooks, and standard positions to accelerate deal cycles and ensure consistency.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for the Sales, Customer Success, Marketing and Procurement teams on routine contracting questions, redlines, and approval workflows.
  • Assist with data protection and privacy compliance work, including assisting with customer security and privacy questionnaires and helping operationalize GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable privacy requirements.
  • Help manage Tenex's contract lifecycle, including intake, routing, e-signature, and post-execution recordkeeping.
  • Contribute to the development of internal trainings and resources on contracting standards, privacy, and compliance best practices.
  • Take on stretch projects and special initiatives as the legal function scales, with the support and mentorship of the Senior Legal Counsel.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5-8 years of legal experience, including a combination of law firm and/or in-house experience; experience supporting a technology, SaaS, or cybersecurity company is strongly preferred.
  • Solid foundation in commercial contracting, with hands-on experience drafting and negotiating SaaS, vendor, and NDA agreements.
  • Working knowledge of data protection and privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA) and familiarity with common security standards (SOC 2, NIST) and how they appear in customer contracts.
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing.
