About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and revise educational programming for nursing and non-nursing personnel
  • Support educational needs for assigned units and clinics through classroom instruction, clinical experiences, and learning technologies
  • Implement comprehensive orientation, competency, professional development, and continuing education programs
  • Ensure course and program revisions meet nursing department and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate Grand Rounds, in-services, continuing education, job-specific, and specialty curricula
  • Lead preceptors and serve as a role model through coaching and mentoring
  • Facilitate and mentor nurse residents in professional and clinical growth
  • Evaluate nursing education activities qualifying for continuing education credit
  • Assist with clinical policy and procedure development
  • Provide guidance and resources for professional growth; mentor colleagues, nurses, students, and others
  • Participate in quality performance improvement activities
  • Cover perinatal services including Labor/Delivery, Mother/Baby, Lactation, and offsite centers
  • Lead projects including Core Super-user Fairs, Fetal Monitoring, and Perinatal Designation/Certification
  • Participate in departmental projects, committees, market workgroups, and educational activities
  • Report educational program compliance to licensing, certification, accreditation, and regulatory bodies
  • Collaborate with management to address factors affecting employee success
  • Cultivate relationships with academic programs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related specialty
  • Current state licenses and certifications, including BLS, ACLS, and NRP
  • Experience in Perinatal Services is preferred
  • Ability to support orientation, continuing education, competency, and professional development programs
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, organizational theory, and learning theory
  • Ability to meet nursing department, regulatory, licensing, certification, and accreditation standards
  • Ability to facilitate education, coaching, mentoring, and nurse-resident development
  • Ability to participate in quality performance improvement activities
  • Ability to communicate effectively and navigate a complex healthcare environment
