About the role

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, patients, physicians, students, vendors and visitors by monitoring and patrolling facilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service while assisting with disruptive incidents and emergency services
  • Provide personal protection and traffic/parking control
  • Respond to incidents and perform related security duties as assigned
  • Collaborate within the healthcare environment to support patient and staff safety

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two to three years in a security role, law enforcement or military background
  • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate state license/certifications for this position
  • Level II Noncommissioned Security Officer with the Texas Commission on Private Security within 60 days of hire
  • Must maintain a valid state driver’s license
  • Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) within 60 days of employment or transfer date into the department
  • Preferred: Texas Security Officer Commission Level III
  • Must comply with federal, state, and/or local mandatory vaccination laws (or obtain approved exemption and submit to regular testing)
