About the role
- Provide individualized lactation support for NICU families, guiding them through the complexities of breastfeeding with medically fragile infants.
- Perform maternal and infant assessments and tailor care plans that promote growth, bonding, and long-term success.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary care team to overcome feeding challenges.
- Lead breastfeeding education for NICU families and deliver annual training for staff.
- Contribute to policy updates, metrics, and certification readiness to keep our program at the forefront of best practices.
- Work onsite in the NICU at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale, AZ.
Requirements
- Nursing degree (or equivalent licensed professional) with Lactation Consultant certification.
- Minimum 2 years of lactation consultant experience, including at least 1 year in the NICU.
- Arizona license + BLS certification required.
- IBCLC certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for teaching families and colleagues alike.
