About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Toronto based Security Engineer, responsible for identifying and matching technology opportunities with the customer’s business issues and objectives
  • Assist in developing business value propositions around Tenable Network Security products and solutions
  • Drives sales with technical expertise, account management skills, sales ability and a superior customer focus
  • Participates as part of a sales team to achieve or exceed revenue targets
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations and live demonstrations of Tenable Enterprise products, focusing on the Tenable One Platform
  • Manage enterprise software trials and Proof of Concept evaluations, driving successful outcomes aligned with customer business objectives
  • Answer technical questions and provide consultative guidance on security best practices, compliance frameworks, and risk management
  • Apply advanced technical skills to demonstrate the value and impact of Tenable’s Exposure Management solutions in solving real-world customer challenges
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers, while identifying and cultivating new strategic opportunities
  • Present thought leadership content and represent Tenable at industry events, executive briefings, and customer-facing sessions
  • Leverage strategic technical selling skills to engage key stakeholders — from engineers to CISOs — and influence decision-making
  • Travel as needed to support key customer engagements, sales opportunities and events
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management and engineering to surface customer feedback and prioritize critical cloud use cases
  • Help shape future innovations by identifying gaps and contributing ideas for new product features and capabilities
  • Deliver clear and actionable status reports, including key trends, upcoming events, and alignment to territory and organizational goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3–5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical sales role, with a proven track record as a trusted and successful sales engineer
  • Demonstrated success leading and winning technical proof-of-value (PoV) engagements with strategic enterprise customers
  • Ability to tailor technical demonstrations and architecture conversations to specific customer environments and business needs
  • Proven solution architecture skills, with the flexibility to adapt and problem-solve in real time during complex customer engagements
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver impactful presentations to a broad range of audiences — from engineers and security practitioners to executive stakeholders
  • A customer-centric mindset, with a relentless focus on delivering business value and building long-term relationships
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach, committed to knowledge-sharing, cross-functional success, and proudly representing our One Tenable team culture
  • Willingness to travel as needed for strategic customer meetings, key industry events, and field enablement activities
  • Drivers License/Transportation
  • Prior experience in a security-focused technical pre-sales role, supporting enterprise customers and strategic accounts
  • Working knowledge of Vulnerability Management
  • Web Application Security
  • Cloud Knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Dev Ops Security (Containers, Kubernetes, IAC)
  • Operational Technology Security
  • AI providers and use cases
  • Attack Surface Management
  • Active Directory
  • Strong working knowledge of compliance frameworks and governance best practices, such as CIS Benchmarks, NIST, or ISO standards
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field), with 3-5 years of direct Sales Engineering or Solution Architecture experience
  • Industry-recognized security certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CEH, CCSP/CCSK, or equivalent
