About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the frontline technical expert for the developer community
Help users deploy and scale Temporal in cloud-native environments
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and optimize performance
Develop automation solutions for infrastructure operations
Work with AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, microservices, Go, Python, and Java
Debug infrastructure issues directly with developers and optimize cloud performance and reliability
Develop observability solutions using Grafana and Prometheus
Improve networking, including load balancing, DNS, and ingress/egress
Automate infrastructure operations using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code
Independently drive technical solutions, production debugging, and infrastructure best practices
Engage with developers, engineering teams, and product teams to understand challenges and provide solutions
Influence platform improvements and develop self-service infrastructure and diagnostic tools
Bridge developers and infrastructure teams to prioritize reliability, performance, and developer experience

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must reside in the Western Time Zone
9+ years of experience as a developer
Fluency in one or more of Python, Java, Golang, or TypeScript preferred
Experience deploying and managing medium- to large-scale architectures, such as Kubernetes or Docker
Experience with Prometheus and Grafana and troubleshooting performance and availability issues
Minimum one year of experience in an internal or external customer-facing role
Experience working with or as part of remote teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Passion for helping others
Ability to seek understanding first, lead with data, and rely on facts
Nice to have: customer-facing experience as a professional services consultant, solutions architect, customer engineer, or similar
Nice to have: security certificate management and implementation experience
Nice to have: ability to translate use cases into Temporal design decisions and architecture best practices
Nice to have: experience with EKS, GKE, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTracing, Terraform, Ansible, or CDK
