About the role
- Build and Maintain Critical Systems: Design, build, and maintain mission-critical systems that power Temporal's customer acquisition funnel and revenue operations infrastructure.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Finance, RevOps, and Sales teams to understand core business requirements and transform them into scalable, effective engineering solutions.
- Contribute to Cloud Nexus: Design, develop and scale a key primitive which enables multi-cloud connectivity between Temporal Applications across teams, domains and regions.
- Ensure Data Integrity and Reliability: Develop, test, and maintain code for distributed data systems. Your work will safeguard the critical metering pipeline that drives almost all of Temporal's revenue.
- Grow With Mentorship: Receive guidance from experienced engineers while building expertise in Go, Kubernetes, Temporal, and cloud-native technologies like Kinesis, Redshift, Stripe, and more.
- Drive Improvements in Developer and Customer Experience: Identify opportunities to streamline customer experiences through automation, better tooling, and strategic system enhancements.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience developing software systems or services through coursework, internships, personal projects, or early professional roles, preferably in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Go, Java/Scala, Python, or similar.
- Passion for building scalable, distributed systems and eagerness to deepen your knowledge in this area.
- Understanding of (or interest in) concurrency programming and how systems operate at scale.
- Interest in databases and storage technologies like Postgres, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, or similar systems.
- A breadth-focused mindset—able to integrate various systems to create robust, seamless experiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset for working in small, supportive teams.
- Enthusiasm for learning in a DevOps environment, including deploying and maintaining systems in production.
