About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with functional leads, analysts, designers, and developers to clarify testing requirements
- Review documentation to identify key test scenarios and create positive and negative test cases
- Develop detailed manual and regression test cases and keep test plans up to date
- Prioritize and execute tests, log defects promptly, and verify fixes
- Flag potential deadline or quality risks early and assess regression impact
- Contribute to test strategies, plans, and metrics gauging release readiness
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including scrum, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Mentor junior QA team members and promote best practices
- Provide client support and training when needed
- Suggest process improvements, automation ideas, and cost-saving measures to improve testing efficiency
- Carry out QA tasks according to defined standards and procedures and deliver them in a timely manner
- Participate in test strategy and test plan definitions and assess the QA impact of system changes
- Support and peer-review tasks of other QA resources
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years experience in Software Quality Assurance
- Proficiency in English language - excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to understand external customer requirements from a testing perspective
- Curious, disciplined, and creative approach to problem-solving
- Clear and constructive communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ownership and accountability; ability to deliver as stated and planned
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience in pension plan administration or financial services industry is an asset
- Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) for test management and defect tracking is an asset
- French basic comprehension is an asset; able to greet and understand simple instructions
- Team members whose functions require data center work or access to detailed client-service technology knowledge are subject to Government of Canada Personnel Security Screening
