About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with functional leads, analysts, designers, and developers to clarify testing requirements
  • Review documentation to identify key test scenarios and create positive and negative test cases
  • Develop detailed manual and regression test cases and keep test plans up to date
  • Prioritize and execute tests, log defects promptly, and verify fixes
  • Flag potential deadline or quality risks early and assess regression impact
  • Contribute to test strategies, plans, and metrics gauging release readiness
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including scrum, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Mentor junior QA team members and promote best practices
  • Provide client support and training when needed
  • Suggest process improvements, automation ideas, and cost-saving measures to improve testing efficiency
  • Carry out QA tasks according to defined standards and procedures and deliver them in a timely manner
  • Participate in test strategy and test plan definitions and assess the QA impact of system changes
  • Support and peer-review tasks of other QA resources

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years experience in Software Quality Assurance
  • Proficiency in English language - excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to understand external customer requirements from a testing perspective
  • Curious, disciplined, and creative approach to problem-solving
  • Clear and constructive communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ownership and accountability; ability to deliver as stated and planned
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Experience in pension plan administration or financial services industry is an asset
  • Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) for test management and defect tracking is an asset
  • French basic comprehension is an asset; able to greet and understand simple instructions
  • Team members whose functions require data center work or access to detailed client-service technology knowledge are subject to Government of Canada Personnel Security Screening
