About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work with functional leads, analysts, designers, and developers to clarify testing requirements
Review documentation to identify key test scenarios and create positive and negative test cases
Develop detailed manual and regression test cases and keep test plans up to date
Prioritize and execute tests, log defects promptly, and verify fixes
Flag potential deadline or quality risks early and assess regression impact
Contribute to test strategies, plans, and metrics gauging release readiness
Participate in Agile ceremonies including scrum, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Mentor junior QA team members and promote best practices
Provide client support and training when needed
Suggest process improvements, automation ideas, and cost-saving measures to improve testing efficiency
Carry out QA tasks according to defined standards and procedures and deliver them in a timely manner
Participate in test strategy and test plan definitions and assess the QA impact of system changes
Support and peer-review tasks of other QA resources

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years experience in Software Quality Assurance
Proficiency in English language - excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to understand external customer requirements from a testing perspective
Curious, disciplined, and creative approach to problem-solving
Clear and constructive communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ownership and accountability; ability to deliver as stated and planned
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Experience in pension plan administration or financial services industry is an asset
Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) for test management and defect tracking is an asset
French basic comprehension is an asset; able to greet and understand simple instructions
Team members whose functions require data center work or access to detailed client-service technology knowledge are subject to Government of Canada Personnel Security Screening
