About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the overarching merchandising strategy, shifting the function from reactive intake to proactive strategic partnership with GTM and Marketing Communications teams
  • Drive strategic campaign integration by partnering early with GTM Marketing, Product teams, and Channel Sales leaders to ensure physical retail environments are prioritized during initial campaign design
  • Synthesize diverse business unit priorities (TELUS Rewards, bundling, integrated home solutions) and align them to quarterly business goals, maintaining a cohesive in-store narrative
  • Adapt national campaign strategies to speak authentically to local markets and diverse communities, ensuring point-of-sale messaging is relevant and impactful across all regions
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration as the central hub connecting GTM Marketing, Product teams, Channel Sales leaders, and external creative agencies to align creative vision with physical store execution
  • Champion the retail representative and customer experience by ensuring every in-store touchpoint drives traffic and equips store teams to have meaningful, high-value sales conversations
  • Maintain a proactive, long-term roadmap of the in-store customer journey, socializing alignment across strategic forums (TRIPR, Win-the-Weekend, regional sales meetings) to unify field and business leaders
  • Regularly visit retail stores to evaluate campaign execution, gather field team feedback, and translate insights into strategic refinements for future GTM playbooks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in retail merchandising, marketing strategy, or related field
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex, multi-faceted business priorities and translate them into cohesive, unified messaging strategies
  • Strong cross-functional leadership experience collaborating with marketing, product, sales, and creative teams to drive alignment and execution
  • Deep understanding of retail environments, customer journeys, and in-store experience design
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Strategic thinking with ability to balance long-term vision with quarterly business priorities and execution
  • Great-to-haves: Experience working in telecommunications, retail, or consumer-facing industries; Familiarity with campaign management tools and retail analytics platforms; Background in community-focused marketing or localization strategies
