About the role

  • Provide solution-focused, short-term counselling to a diverse clientele facing personal and work-related challenges.
  • Assess client needs, establish goals, and develop individualized strategies within the scope of EAP coverage.
  • Create personalized, action-oriented plans to support clients in achieving meaningful outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in alignment with TELUS Health’s clinical standards and protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with TELUS Health’s internal EAP team to ensure seamless client care.
  • Adhere to professional, ethical, and confidentiality guidelines while complying with all relevant policies and regulations.
  • Stay current with best practices in mental health care and actively engage in continuous professional development.
  • Provide in-person EAP counselling through private practice and participate in specialized services (e.g., Work Support Program, post-trauma group interventions).

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work.
  • Current registration in good standing with your licensing body or professional association.
  • Valid professional liability insurance coverage.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduate counselling experience across diverse populations.
  • Strong skills in short-term goal setting and solution-focused counselling approaches.
  • Confidence in managing high-risk cases, including clients at risk of harm to self or others.
  • Experience working with individuals, couples, and families, and familiarity with local community resources.
  • A professionally maintained private office for in-person sessions.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Counselling Therapist (as applicable).
  • Ability to operate as an independent contractor/private practice provider.
  • May be subject to Personnel Security Screening if role requires Data Center access.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to join TELUS Health Care Centres (where required).
