About the role
- Provide solution-focused, short-term counselling to a diverse clientele facing personal and work-related challenges.
- Assess client needs, establish goals, and develop individualized strategies within the scope of EAP coverage.
- Create personalized, action-oriented plans to support clients in achieving meaningful outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in alignment with TELUS Health’s clinical standards and protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with TELUS Health’s internal EAP team to ensure seamless client care.
- Adhere to professional, ethical, and confidentiality guidelines while complying with all relevant policies and regulations.
- Stay current with best practices in mental health care and actively engage in continuous professional development.
- Provide in-person EAP counselling through private practice and participate in specialized services (e.g., Work Support Program, post-trauma group interventions).
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work.
- Current registration in good standing with your licensing body or professional association.
- Valid professional liability insurance coverage.
- Minimum of 5 years post-graduate counselling experience across diverse populations.
- Strong skills in short-term goal setting and solution-focused counselling approaches.
- Confidence in managing high-risk cases, including clients at risk of harm to self or others.
- Experience working with individuals, couples, and families, and familiarity with local community resources.
- A professionally maintained private office for in-person sessions.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Counselling Therapist (as applicable).
- Ability to operate as an independent contractor/private practice provider.
- May be subject to Personnel Security Screening if role requires Data Center access.
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to join TELUS Health Care Centres (where required).
