About the role

  • Investigate user behaviour and user needs using qualitative and quantitative methods to inform product strategy
  • Personally initiate and conduct foundational and evaluative research (solution validation and problem validation)
  • Design and conduct research studies to build deep foundational knowledge of product areas
  • Create high-quality deliverables (reports, presentations, video recordings) that tell compelling stories integrated with research findings
  • Engage stakeholders by understanding their objectives, processes, and obstacles and applying that knowledge in collaboration
  • Prioritize research efforts based on impact, product stage goals, and company objectives
  • Contribute to UX Research team culture by iterating on processes, documentation, and peer reviews
  • Empower and guide colleagues to conduct rigorous research and document actionable insights
  • Advocate for and socialize actionable insights to influence executive decision-making and product direction

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant work experience as a user researcher, including integrating user research into product designs
  • Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods and when to apply them (surveys, usability tests, focus groups, guerilla research)
  • Ability to combine quantitative and qualitative skills to understand behaviour and motivations
  • Storytelling skills: organize data and weave findings into compelling stories using analytics to support conclusions
  • Curiosity and problem solving: ask the right questions and learn from user research sessions
  • Ability to move fast, adapt quickly to change, handle ambiguity, and work autonomously in an agile environment
  • Experience prioritizing simultaneous deadlines across multiple projects
  • Good communication and public speaking skills for knowledge-sharing and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience guiding others to conduct research with rigor and following defined research processes
  • Familiarity with stakeholder engagement, aligning research with stakeholder objectives, processes, and obstacles
