About the role
- Analyze files submitted by Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) advisors to the Legal Department
- Represent TELUS Health clients before the Administrative Labour Tribunal, Occupational Health and Safety Division (OHS), including conciliation
- Conduct jurisprudential (case law) research
- Work closely with internal OHS advisors
- Appear before the Administrative Labour Tribunal, Labour Relations Division (acts reserved for lawyers)
- Assist clients in CNESST mediations before the Labour Standards Division (acts reserved for lawyers)
- Represent clients before the CNESST conciliator-adjudicator
- Provide legal opinions in these areas of expertise (acts reserved for lawyers)
- Draft articles for internal and external audiences
- Contribute to the training of OHS management advisors
- Other responsibilities: file review to advise on case strategy
- Respond to inquiries from other departments regarding the application of the LATMP (Act respecting industrial accidents and occupational diseases) and other related legislation
- Various administrative tasks such as recording performance indicators, requesting survey distribution, etc.
Requirements
- Hold a certificate or bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations Management, or another relevant discipline
- More than 5 years of experience in occupational health and safety and/or administrative law and/or labour law
- Demonstrated experience representing clients at the Administrative Labour Tribunal (hearings)
- Daily access to a vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license
- Computer skills; knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and the Office 365 suite is an asset
