About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Configure, test, optimize, and manage management and monitoring tools for TELUS Managed Services
  • Assist with configuration, changes, updates, and deployment of new use cases for the AIOPS platform
  • Perform routine MCP systems development and maintenance to ensure communication between AI models and underlying data systems
  • Collaborate with network engineers, business analysts, and architects to translate managed services requirements into AI/automation workflows
  • Build and maintain automation workflows that reduce repeated tasks across the TELUS Managed Services environment
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to technology professionals working on TELUS Managed Services
  • Drive development and integration of AI-powered solutions to enhance TELUS Managed Services
  • Support the Managed Services Transformation program through tool configuration and testing, documentation, and MCP integrations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong foundation in telecom engineering and network operations
  • Hands-on automation experience
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn and master enterprise toolsets
  • Ability to translate network strategies, architectures, and NOC workflows into automated AI/agentic solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of IP, firewall, Gigabit Ethernet, MPLS/VPN, QoS, management protocols, and cloud-based services
  • Hands-on experience with Python/JavaScript programming, API integrations, Linux/Windows environments, virtualization, and containerized platforms
  • Ability to balance priorities while handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • In-depth understanding of telecom industry trends, NOC operations, and emerging AI technologies
  • Experience serving as a technical lead on automation/development projects
  • 5+ years of experience as a telecom engineer, network developer, or AI solutions consultant in a communications service provider or solution provider organization
  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computing Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Government of Canada Security Clearance (Level 2 Secret) listed as a great-to-have
  • Deep knowledge of software development and advanced machine learning concepts listed as a great-to-have
  • Industry certifications in AI, Cloud (GCP), or Networking (Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto) listed as great-to-haves
  • Knowledge of ITSM systems, including Incident, Problem and Change management, CMDB, and ServiceNow, listed as a great-to-have
