Application Development Analyst – Pension Payroll

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze client business requirements and convert them into detailed functional and technical specifications for pension payroll implementations
- Configure pension payroll systems (payroll engines, benefit calculations, deduction rules) across different implementation phases
- Perform unit testing and quality assurance on pension payroll configurations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Conduct end-to-end testing of payroll processes, from data validation to final payroll output
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Client Managers, Technical Architects, Developers, and Infrastructure teams to address project requirements and client needs
- Maintain and validate configuration data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members on pension payroll configuration best practices
- Document functional specifications, test cases, and configuration decisions for audit and knowledge management purposes
- Monitor and track tasks in project management tools (ADO) with regular status updates
- Support adherence to project SLAs and defined workflows
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance configuration and testing methodologies
- Assist in driving KPIs related to project success, quality metrics, and timely delivery
- Execute code reviews and validate configurations against requirement artifacts
- Work independently or collaboratively to ensure smooth integration and transition of pension payroll processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4.5 years of experience in pension payroll, benefits administration, or related IT implementation roles
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- Knowledge of pension payroll domain, including payroll calculations, benefit accruals, deductions, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation and reporting
- Working knowledge of pension payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms)
- Solid understanding of configuration management practices and tools
- Intermediate skills in programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS for custom configurations
- Experience with ETL tools or data integration platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to document requirements and create clear technical specifications
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements in pension and payroll (e.g., ERISA, IRS regulations)
