About the role
- Plan, design, and execute test cases for firmware, hardware, and software validation.
- Perform regression, functional, exploratory, and stress testing of embedded devices with and without technical documentation.
- Test and validate communication interfaces such as UART, CAN, I²C, SPI, RS232/RS485, 1-Wire, BLE, LTE, GNSS.
- Validate power management, sensor functionality, and I/O performance on hardware boards.
- Use lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer, power analyzer) for debugging.
- Recreate real-world operating scenarios in a controlled environment using GNSS, thermal, humidity, vibration, and network simulation equipment.
- Perform field tests to verify that the device operates as expected in real-world scenarios (GNSS quality, track accuracy in different environments).
- Collaborate closely with development teams (HW/FW/SW) to reproduce, analyze, and verify issues.
- Track defects and provide detailed reports using Jira.
- Improve our testing methodologies and contribute to maintaining test documentation in systems such as Zephyr.
- Develop and implement automated tests for firmware and applications to ensure continuous quality and efficiency.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in QA testing for embedded systems, hardware, firmware or software.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking.
- Hands-on experience with test tools and lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supply).
- Good knowledge of embedded communication interfaces/ protocols (UART, SPI, I²C, BLE, LTE).
- Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot firmware/hardware integration issues.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.
- Experience with test case management tools (TestRail, Zephyr Scale, XRay).
- Experience in test automation development and execution.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in writing clear, structured, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
