About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a group of Information and Cyber Security Analysts responsible for protecting Telstra’s systems, applications and networks from compromise, theft and damage.
- Provide critical assurance that customer data and services are secure, reinforcing Telstra’s position as a trusted partner.
- Drive the ongoing growth and innovation of our Cyber Detection and Response (CDR) offering, ensuring it remains aligned with modern and emerging security technologies and practices.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience managing or leading a Security Operations Centre in a large enterprise or critical infrastructure environment
- Demonstrated ability to run 24x7 SOC operations, including roster management, handover quality, and operational resilience
- Experience managing incident triage, investigation, escalation, and recovery across multiple severity levels
- Clear understanding of the end‑to‑end incident lifecycle
- Hands‑on experience leading major cyber incidents, including: Decision‑making under pressure, Executive and stakeholder communications, Coordination across technology, risk, legal, and business teams
- Works well in a complex, fast‑paced operational environment and is motivated by solving challenging problems with real business impact.
- Australian Citizen with NV1 Clearance or ability to obtain it.
- Will obtain an Australian Federal Police Check.
