About the role
- Design, build and maintain multiple complex software application technologies and their interaction with Telstra processes and systems
- Develop innovative software that maintains data/network security management and leverage set processes to reduce time to production
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, and Bamboo
- Build and maintain container images using Docker, Kaniko, and Buildah; manage and orchestrate containers with Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Rancher, and EKS
- Operate and support multi-cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and PCF
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet
- Troubleshoot and optimize GitLab environments and pipelines; ensure reliability and performance
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams; contribute to system architecture, security design, and performance tuning
- Engage with stakeholders to translate customer needs into software products and lead components of strategic initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement of systems and processes and provide guidance to junior engineers
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo)
- 5+ years of experience with container build tools (Docker, Kaniko, Buildah)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Rancher, EKS)
- 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, PCF, Azure)
- 3+ years working with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- Strong experience in GitLab operations and CI/CD pipeline debugging
- Excellent scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Shell)
- Good understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices
- Experience leading initiatives and mentoring junior engineers
- Experience designing scalable software application solutions
