About the role
- Own the Voice AI backend roadmap end-to-end
- Scope and prioritize features around STT, TTS, VAD, and LLM integrations
- Define requirements for programmable voice primitives (call control, media injection, partial ASR)
- Partner with engineering to deliver improvements in latency, reliability, and multi-engine support
- Establish metrics and feedback loops to measure performance and UX
- Act as the glue between product, engineering, and leadership; report into Product with high visibility
Requirements
- Strong background in programmable voice: SIP, WebRTC, call control APIs
- Familiarity with AI pipelines (STT, TTS, LLM orchestration)
- Proven success delivering backend or distributed systems products
- Hands-on comfort with APIs (Postman, cURL) and technical specs
- Decisive, opinionated, and able to drive priorities in fast-moving environments
- Must have real-time voice experience (telephony, SIP/WebRTC)
- Must have experience shipping backend infrastructure products
