About the role
- The Mandarin Interpreter facilitates communication between Mandarin and English speakers for medical clinical industries
- This role involves handling on-demand calls
- Quickly processing information
- Recognizing cultural nuances to overcome language barriers
- Facilitates and delivers clear and precise interpretations for calls to facilitate clear communication for both parties
- Handling high volumes of calls professionally in a dynamic call center setting
- Utilizing your linguistic expertise to Medical Clinic Services or Industry
- Promoting cultural awareness and sensitivity in all interactions
- Upholding strict standards of professionalism and confidentiality
- Adhering to scheduling commitments and actively participating in training
Requirements
- Fluency in Mandarin and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics
- Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy during interpretation
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Having knowledge of medical terminologies is an advantage but not required
- Candidates who are currently employed by a client of LanguageLine Solutions or an affiliated LanguageLine Solutions business may not be eligible for consideration
