About the role

  • Technically Contribute to C++, Python, and Cuda codebases
  • Drive technical decision making, coordinating between software engineers and machine learning engineers, amongst a distributed internal and subcontractor team
  • Prepare technical reports and contractual deliverables for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Drive development of a mature machine learning stack
  • Research, evaluate, and implement newest techniques in machine vision, robotics, and deep learning
  • Ensure alignment with project goals, timelines, and compliance standards throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar technical field with 3+ years of relevant experience or Masters with 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Foundational knowledge of deep learning techniques, familiarity with PyTorch and Data Version Control (DVC) is a plus
  • Strong foundation of linear algebra and statistics
  • Understanding of SLAM algorithms, 3D data, and numerical optimization
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex research projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively
  • Familiarity with Embedded Systems like the NVIDIA Orin
  • Familiarity with modern Linux/Unix operating systems like Ubuntu
  • Able and willing to travel approximately 20%, primarily domestic
