About the role
- Volunteer General Legal Counsel / Charity Solicitor providing legal advice and support to CEO and Board of Directors/Trustees on key legal issues.
- Support the development of long-term strategies, including supporting the advancement of the Charity, and any commercial subsidiaries.
- Develop and lead legal training where appropriate.
- Prepare documents, evidence, arguments and identify legal precedents to justify organisation's decisions and actions.
- Act as a point of contact to the organisation in relation to any legal matters or action.
- Keep the organisation up to date and informed of new and existing laws and regulations applicable to operations and industry.
- Report directly to the CEO and volunteer on an ad-hoc basis (~3 hours per week).
Requirements
- Be a qualified solicitor or recognised legal professional, with recent experience in providing legal advice and support to charities or companies in the UK.
- Experience as a solicitor or legal professional within the non-profit/charity sector is essential.
- Possess detailed knowledge of specific laws and regulations pertaining to the industry that Youth4Youth works in, as well as local laws within the United Kingdom.
- Ability to interpret and convey complex legal information in an understandable format.
- Public speaking skills and the ability to present and defend legal arguments.
