Volunteer General Legal Counsel / Charity Solicitor providing legal advice and support to CEO and Board of Directors/Trustees on key legal issues.
Support the development of long-term strategies, including supporting the advancement of the Charity, and any commercial subsidiaries.
Develop and lead legal training where appropriate.
Prepare documents, evidence, arguments and identify legal precedents to justify organisation's decisions and actions.
Act as a point of contact to the organisation in relation to any legal matters or action.
Keep the organisation up to date and informed of new and existing laws and regulations applicable to operations and industry.
Report directly to the CEO and volunteer on an ad-hoc basis (~3 hours per week).
Requirements
Be a qualified solicitor or recognised legal professional, with recent experience in providing legal advice and support to charities or companies in the UK.
Experience as a solicitor or legal professional within the non-profit/charity sector is essential.
Possess detailed knowledge of specific laws and regulations pertaining to the industry that Youth4Youth works in, as well as local laws within the United Kingdom.
Ability to interpret and convey complex legal information in an understandable format.
Public speaking skills and the ability to present and defend legal arguments.
