About the role
- Own and prioritize the backlog for platform automation, deployment, and compliance initiatives.
- Translate business, security, and regulatory requirements into actionable epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with engineering teams to:
- Automate build, packaging, and deployment processes.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines with reliability, repeatability, and security in mind.
- Introduce advanced orchestration patterns to achieve zero-downtime deployments.
- Eliminate manual processes and embed automation into every step of delivery.
- Drive platform evolution and application modernization to deliver high availability, elastic scaling, disaster recovery, and improved resiliency.
- Align automation and deployment priorities with business requirements to minimize cognitive load while meeting compliance obligations.
- Develop, track, and achieve product-level KPIs (deployment speed, reliability, adoption, developer satisfaction).
- Support architecture and security leads in design validation, risk assessment, and regulatory alignment.
- Document requirements, solution overviews, and product decisions clearly and consistently.
- Facilitate cross-team discussions to align on scope, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
- Act as the voice of the business and customers when balancing priorities and trade-offs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in SaaS, enterprise software, or infrastructure platforms.
- Ability to work in DevOps environments and collaborate with engineers skilled in:
- Helm, Kubernetes, and GitOps practices/tools.
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including management consoles and CLI integration.
- Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Bash and/or Python scripting.
- CI/CD tools and methodologies (GitLab-CI, Artifactory).
- Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders and translate technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences.
- Strong ability to structure and document requirements into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to translate technical and regulatory needs into clear business outcomes.
- Experience in compliance-driven environments (e.g., SOC2, FedRAMP, FIPS) is an asset.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and prioritization skills.
- Belief in DevOps culture and its principles of automation, seamless delivery, and collaboration.
- Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec.
