About the role
- Provide non-metallic materials technical support to the Rigid Pipeline, Flexible, Umbilical and SPS Technologies projects
- Perform engineering to establish and maintain design rules and design tools related to non-metallic materials selection and specifications.
- Contribute to standardisation initiatives and deploy digital tools for material selection
- Review materials documentations for projects specific and customer specific requirements.
- Support projects related to Products Life Maintenance and New Products Developments and contribute to technology roadmaps for non-metallic materials.
- Participate in the development of planning and budgeting for these projects.
- Provide Technical support related to non-metallic special processes (extrusion, injection molding, coating, painting) in coordination with TechnipFMC manufacturing units and Supply Chain to ensure flowless high quality projects execution.
- Collaborate with Core Technologies R&D team and Project & Tender team.
- Provide technical input during supplier audits, supplier qualification, and technical queries.
- Maintain state of the art knowledge on coating industry and new materials development in order to identify opportunities for product and process improvements and R&D projects.
- Liaise with legal, procurement and IP departments to ensure necessary agreement are in place with partners and external entities.
Requirements
- Degree in Materials Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Advanced English
- Experience in subsea or similar industries
- Strong knowledge of non-metallic materials (anti-corrosion and insulation coatings, thermoplastics, elastomers, thermosets) and their manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with non-metallics mechanical and ageing tests
- Experience with SSI principles and digital engineering tools
