About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide engineering solutions as part of an SSE project taskforce according to company standards, procedures, schedules, and budgets
- Support project engineering, new product and technology development, product improvement, standardization, and qualification projects
- Lead professionals or GETs on a project basis when assigned
- Create and review part reports, drawings, engineering specifications, standards, layouts, and calculations
- Develop product designs, geometry standards documentation, and product qualification requirements
- Support and manage project schedules and deliverables
- Provide technical assistance and work progress updates to management
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and designers/drafters
- Provide vendors with technical assistance and build working relationships
- Apply industry codes for surface wellhead systems, TechnipFMC standards, and client specifications
- Support engineering work packages and ensure project requirements are captured in deliverables
- Prepare ECNs, part reports, engineering specifications, and related communications
- Facilitate root cause analyses and provide design solutions for non-conformances
- Support Quality Notification dispositions and supply chain issues
- Provide technical support to manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, FAT, and SIT activities
- Coordinate with engineering teams on workload requirements, analytical models, and methodologies
- Work with technical authorities to define product requirements consistent with industry practices
- Find creative solutions to complex, multifaceted, and time-sensitive technical problems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree Mechanical Engineer
- At least 5 years of Engineering experience in the Oil & Gas domain, reduced to 3 years for Masters/PhD candidates
- Experience supporting engineering for surface projects constrained by safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements
- Experience reviewing engineering designs, documents, layouts, calculations, and interpreting FEA/structural analysis results
- Strong knowledge of engineering discipline and physical modeling techniques, including solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer
- Experience conducting design analysis, including hoop stress, flexibility, buckling, burst, and fatigue
- Experience with API 6A and NACE MR 0175
- Knowledge of ASME, API 6FA, API 5CT, and ASME 31.3 as related to surface equipment design and manufacturing is beneficial
- Exposure to manufacturing processes including forging, hot and cold extrusion, cladding, HIP, and induction bending
- Ability to manage engineering projects within specified schedule and budget
- Accuracy, dependability, scheduling, and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to transfer subject matter expertise and coach and mentor others
