About the role
- Test Case Execution: Follow test scripts (manual or automated) to identify bugs or defects in the functionality of web and Java applications.
- Defect Reporting: Clearly document identified defects in bug tracking tools (such as Jira or Bugzilla), specifying steps to reproduce the issue and validating functionality against the specified requirements.
- API Testing: Use tools like Postman to perform basic tests on RESTful APIs, validating responses, status codes, and expected system behavior.
- Requirements Review: Assist in reviewing software requirements and specifications to ensure test cases cover all required functionality.
- Collaboration with Developers: Work closely with developers and other QA team members to understand implementations and properly test delivered features.
- Test Case Maintenance: Contribute to updating test scripts as application features evolve.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in Information Systems, Computer Science, Systems Analysis and Development, or related fields.
- Basic Software Testing Concepts: Knowledge of manual testing, types of tests (unit, integration, functional, regression, acceptance), and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Web Application Testing Fundamentals: Basic understanding of how web applications work (front-end and back-end), browsers, HTTP/HTTPS requests, and API handling.
- Web Technologies: Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to test UI functionality and layout in web applications.
- Application Testing Tools: Experience with automation and bug-tracking tools such as Selenium, Postman (for API testing), and version control systems like Git. (Familiarity with some of these tools)
- Java Language Concepts: Basic understanding of Java programming to test back-end APIs and identify issues related to application logic.
- Operating Systems and Browsers: Ability to test applications across different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).
