About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Help scale the way we drive financial performance across a portfolio of ~90 network companies
  • Build the systems, data foundations, and operational models for effective and consistent operations
  • Report to the VP, Financial Performance; collaborate with data, operations, and product teams
  • Design, build, and continuously improve operational infrastructure to scale financial performance
  • Identify process bottlenecks, redundancies, and gaps; drive systemic fixes
  • Develop and maintain playbooks, frameworks, and templates for consistent support
  • Partner with Operations Leads to embed scalable practices into daily engagement
  • Lead efforts to unlock, clean, and strategically leverage data
  • Audit and improve data pipelines for accuracy and consistency
  • Establish data quality standards in partnership with Finance and Product teams
  • Build analytical infrastructure for visibility of portfolio-level trends
  • Support operational execution of strategic planning cycles; track plans effectively
  • Build infrastructure for efficient planning and reporting; synthesize outputs into actionable insights
  • Serve as the primary Financial Performance voice in product roadmap planning
  • Partner with product team to draft impactful roadmap items
  • Drive adoption of financial and operational tools across network companies
  • Ensure built features drive measurable behavior change

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, operations, FP&A, or a related field
  • Proven ability to work with data at scale: auditing quality, improving pipelines, developing frameworks, and turning complex information into clear insights.
  • Strong cross-functional operator, able to drive progress across Product, Finance, and Operations without direct authority.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to zoom between strategic framing and granular execution as the situation demands.
  • Excellent analytical skills, proficient in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with AI-driven workflow automation tools/processes, BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar), and SQL a strong plus
  • Sharp written and verbal communication; able to distill complexity into executive-ready materials and actionable team guidance.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: you build what doesn't exist and improve what does, without waiting to be told.
  • Experience in a portfolio company, multi-unit operations, private equity ops, or management consulting environment (preferred)
  • Familiarity with small business financial operations including P&Ls, cash flow, operational KPIs (preferred)
  • Experience influencing product roadmaps and working with engineering or product teams on tool adoption (preferred)
  • Background building or improving financial reporting infrastructure (e.g., data models, dashboards, automated reporting pipelines) (preferred)
