About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Run a broad range of tasks and support other Capital Markets team members
- Compile coverage reports and conduct research
- Manage day-to-day client contact and relationships where appropriate
- Provide advice and guidance to clients
- Ensure efficient, high-quality day-to-day delivery of client programmes
- Drive and coordinate media and analyst relations activity
- Draft well-informed, audience-appropriate written materials
- Assist with new business proposals and pitch presentations
- Plan and manage client events
- Nurture junior team members through on-the-job coaching
- Draft press releases and handle RNS announcements
- Build media and sell-side analyst relations skills
- Engage on social media
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5+ years communications experience, preferably with some Capital Markets experience
- Interest and enthusiasm for the City and Capital Markets communications
- Passion for media, current affairs and business
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good attention to detail
- Analytical, creative and inquisitive approach
- Time management skills, including adapting to changing priorities and multitasking to meet deadlines
- Flexible attitude to working out of hours occasionally when required
- Strong understanding of the media and the communication and business skills needed to run accounts
- Ability to handle RNS news announcements, including managing client sign-off
- Good understanding of social media and the broader digital landscape
- Ability to recognise a crisis situation and escalate the response
- Effective delivery of financial calendar communications programmes
- Developing advisory skills and awareness of regulatory best practice
- Ability to judge material price-sensitive issues and seek senior counsel
- Developing a network of City contacts and financial/business media relationships
