About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Overseeing the day-to-day field operations
Developing project plans and monitoring performance
Ensuring projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
Leading the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs
Reviewing and updating construction schedules, addressing delays, and contributing to project schedules
Estimating activity durations and materials for complex projects
Participating in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations
Setting priorities and allocating resources as needed for the entire field team
Providing leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents

Requirements

What you’ll need

Three or more years of experience in as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
Experience in aerial fiber construction is required
Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
Effective Communication and leadership skills
Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
Strong organizational and planning skills
Military experience equivalent to 12N Horizontal Construction Engineer and/or 12H Construction Engineering Supervisor
