About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Overseeing the day-to-day field operations for large-scale long-haul fiber installation projects
Developing project plans and monitors performance
Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs
Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to project schedules
Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects
Participate in subcontractor, supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations
Set priorities and allocate resources as needed for the entire field team
Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents

Requirements

What you’ll need

8 plus years of experience in as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
Knowledge of underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment
Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
Effective Communication and leadership skills
Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
Strong organizational and planning skills
