About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Overseeing the day-to-day field operations, develops project plans, and monitors performance.
Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
Leads the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversees incident investigations.
Reviews and updates construction schedules, addresses delays, and contributes to project schedules.
Estimates activity durations and materials for complex projects.
Working knowledge of reporting and tracking of financial aspects of the project.
Participates in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations.
Sets priorities and allocates resources as needed for the entire field team.
Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Three or more years of experience in as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
Experience in aerial fiber construction is required
Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
Effective Communication and leadership skills
Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
Strong organizational and planning skills
Military experience equivalent to 12N Horizontal Construction Engineer and/or 12H Construction Engineering Supervisor.
