About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead daily field operations to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Execute project plans and schedules, uphold site safety and quality control, and manage the work of field staff, contractors, and tradespeople.
Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee incident investigations.
Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to project schedules.
Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects.
Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations.
Set priorities and allocate resources as needed for the entire field team.
Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents.

Requirements

What you’ll need

One to three years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
Experience in aerial and underground fiber installation methods is a plus (Plow and Horizontal Directional Drill, HDD)
Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
Effective communication and leadership skills
Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
Strong organizational and planning skills.
