About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and lead end-to-end analytics projects across P&C underwriting, claims, distribution, and client experience
  • Develop statistical models, segmentation analyses, and predictive frameworks from complex datasets
  • Define and track KPIs and metrics for accountability and operational improvement
  • Identify data gaps and quality issues and partner with data engineering to resolve root causes
  • Synthesize findings into narratives for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Architect and maintain scalable data models and pipelines with data engineering
  • Build and own executive dashboards and self-service reporting tools
  • Write complex SQL queries and use Python/R for statistical analyses, automation, and investigations
  • Document data definitions, methodology, and analytical logic
  • Evaluate and implement analytics tools and technologies
  • Partner with Sales, P&C Underwriting, Operations, and Finance leaders to translate needs into project plans
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and manage timelines, scope, and deliverables
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Serve as subject matter expert for data governance, definitions, and analytical best practices
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering on infrastructure priorities and roadmaps
  • Provide code review, technical guidance, and mentorship to junior and mid-level analysts
  • Lead project planning and workload prioritization
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery timelines
  • Champion data-driven decision-making and analytical rigor
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and professional development within analytics

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role
  • At least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL
  • Strong working knowledge of Python or R for analytical workflows
  • Expertise with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI or Looker
  • Ability to build and communicate complex analyses to executive and non-technical audiences
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes
  • Project management and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to influence without formal authority
  • Minimal travel availability, up to 10%
  • Standard Monday–Friday business hours with occasional flexibility for deadlines or cross-time-zone collaboration
  • Property and Casualty insurance expertise is expected; knowledge of insurance products, terminology, and regulatory environment is a strong plus
  • Preferred experience in insurance, financial services, or healthcare
  • Preferred exposure to agency management systems, policy administration platforms, or insurance data warehouses
  • Preferred Agile/Scrum experience and analytics delivery within sprint cycles
